Counselling for Menopause and Birth Trauma

About Amy

‘Empowering women to thrive’

Amy is a qualified integrative counsellor and former midwife who is passionate about supporting women’s mental health in a compassionate, nonjudgmental way.

She specialises in helping women, birth partners, and medical practitioners navigate birth trauma, drawing on her extensive experience as a midwife to understand the challenges of childbirth and the postnatal period deeply.

Birth trauma can arise from various factors, such as medical emergencies, lack of emotional support, neonatal illness, deviations from birth plans, grief, postnatal depression, and even the impact of COVID-19.

Therapy with Amy offers a safe environment to process these experiences, challenging the notion that a healthy baby is the sole measure of a positive birth.

Amy also provides trauma-informed therapy for survivors of sexual abuse, helping clients process their experiences safely and work towards healing and empowerment by addressing symptoms of PTSD.

She also supports women navigating the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. Using integrative therapy and CBT, Amy helps clients manage hormonal, mental, and physical changes that can affect relationships, work, sleep, and self-concept. With training from the British Menopause Society, Amy assists women in finding coping strategies for anxiety, hot flushes, and insomnia while fostering self-acceptance and resilience during this transitional phase.

Whether dealing with trauma or life changes, Amy offers therapy tailored to your unique story. She provides a free, no-obligation phone consultation to discuss your needs, which you can book using the link below:
