Stress and massage
In the long term, constant stress is known to cause heart disease,
strokes, cancer and angina. However, it is not the threat of stress which harms us but the anxiety which is triggered by the stress which causes problems. If stress is managed well, anxiety will no longer cause an adverse reaction within the body.
How massage can help
Regular massage enables you to release anxiety and stimulates the body to achieve its own state of equilibrium. When the body is relaxed, (remember how you felt after that relaxing two week holiday away?) problems and events tend to be less daunting and more manageable.
How we can help you
At Two Nine O Five, our aim is to help you manage your own stress
levels by offering you a choice of massage packages to suit your needs. We work closely with osteopaths and other therapists from the Fairbourne Clinic and look at the treatment as a whole package including lifestyle changes to help keep things in balance. We specialise in Holistic Medical Massage for lower back, neck, shoulder, arm, wrist and calf pain using a combination of deep tissue, trigger point (NMT) and myofascial release techniques.
Massage therapy is available in Newbury by Sue Perry, an ITEC qualified therapist. Sue also uses Myofascial and Trigger point therapy (NMT) and Cranio sacral therapy in her work gained through advanced massage study at the Jing Advanced Massage Academy in Brighton and the John Upledger Institute she is also a member of the Complimentary Therapists Association
Client Testimonials
I first visited Sue having been diagnosed with ME and recurrent, painful jaw issues (ME being the convenient tag for GP’s to assign the ‘psychological’ or ‘untreatable’) Frustrated and depressed by being unable to work or socialize, Sue quickly provided maximum symptomatic release immediately following any treatment, but more importantly identified and treated the causes of these problems.
If, like me, you suffer from a condition ‘conventional’ medicine does not recognize or treat effectively, you will benefit enormously both physically and psychologically from visiting Sue. I have had many homeopathic treatments over the years and would not hesitate in recommending Sue as the best in her field bar none. Sue is honest, caring and genuinely committed to healing people.

When I first booked in with Sue, it was simply for a relaxation massage. I don’t find it easy, meeting new people or making small talk, and in appointments like these tend to say only what is needed and very little more. However, with Sue I felt an instant rapport and she put me at ease immediately. She is extremely professional and displays an incredibly detailed knowledge of her subject. Her technique is fascinating and I have never experienced anything quite so effective. During the massage, she could feel that I had pain in various areas of my shoulders and upper back, even though I hadn’t mentioned it. When I returned for my next session, she worked on this area and, over that and the following session, completely cured the pain, which I have never had since. I am happily seeing her on a regular basis to sort out further problems for which I have never previously found massage to be effective. I would recommend Sue to anyone - she's fantastic!

I was originally referred to Sue suffering with extreme stiffness in the neck which would frequently seize and go into spasm.
Sue advised me that my desk work and long hours on the road were a contributory factor and suggested a course of myofascial release to alleviate the tension in the muscles in my neck and back.
I found the initial treatment quite strange as it was like nothing I had previously experienced before, however, Sue explained really clearly what she was doing and how the muscular system works and responds. After one session, I felt immediate relief, and after a further 3 or 4, I could feel the stiffness diminishing making the movement of my head far more comfortable. I now have monthly maintenance sessions to keep the muscles soft and supple to prevent further stiffness and eliminate the stress from my body.
The whole experience is calm, informative, yet very relaxing and is a welcome relief from the stresses of daily work. I have recommended Sue to a number of friends and family, all of whom have found their treatments to be hugely beneficial, and continue to visit for treatment on a regular basis.

Two-Nine-O-Five was recommended to me by my girlfriend, and after much nagging, I decided to make an appointment for general back stiffness, despite my reservations that it was likely to be a bit ‘new age’ and unlikely to work.
Sue immediately demonstrated to my surprise that I had extreme tension in my upper body which had built up over the years due to stress and many hours of driving every week.
I felt a difference in movement after one session, and so continued to make regular appointments over the next few weeks. The treatment I was given involves a combination of gentle stretching, massage, and pressing to eliminate knots and thickening of the muscles.
I now visit once a month, and find the whole experience so relaxing, I generaly fall asleep!
